Mixed reviews, here are a few!
"Initially it took a long time to get into this book but by the time I was half way through, I found that I just couldn't put it down."
"I found the novel slow to develop but pleased I finished it as I became more engrossed in the second half. The fictional pharmaceutical company, the Lakashi tribe’s secret, the possible ability to revolutionise the lives of women around the world and rake in the big bucks plus interesting characters in the story plus a good twist at the end created the interest. It was interesting we all felt much the same about the characters and storyline when we had our discussion."
"I didn't enjoy the book (State of Wonder) and found the story totally unbelievable. It raised some very interesting comments from all of the readers, so quite a lively discussion, I think we all agreed there was no way we would want to have babies in our 70's !!!!!"
"Mr Fox was such a drip I found it hard to imagine he had managed to keep a wife never mind a mistress. Marina, the main character, grew on me as the book progressed. The last chapter leaves quite a few loose ends with no conclusions but that didn't seem to matter. I thoroughly enjoyed the second half of the book and despite feeling desperately itchy due to all the critters mentioned in the novel, I would recommend it although initially thinking I would hate it."
